Warranty Registration

Built for a lifetime of work. Backed by people who use them.

We make our tools in Taos, New Mexico, and we build them to last a working lifetime. Most problems we hear about are fixed with a phone call and a part in the mail. This page puts in writing how we already treat our customers, and it rewards owners who learn to use their tools well.

Every Bonny Doon tool is covered the day you buy it. Register it and you get more. Finish our free Fundamentals course and you get the most coverage we offer: repair or replace, no questions asked.

How it works

1. You're covered

Every Bonny Doon tool ships with our standard warranty, including a lifetime warranty on press frames. Coverage starts on the date of purchase shown on your receipt or invoice. Nothing to sign up for.

2. Register within 60 days

Register within 60 days of purchase and your coverage extends to 3 years on rams and 2 years on tools. It takes about two minutes.

Register online using the form on this page, or call us at 575-741-0282 and we'll do it for you. You'll need:

  • Your name and email
  • The product you bought
  • Date of purchase and where you bought it
  • The serial number (presses only)
  • A photo of your receipt or invoice

Registered owners also get priority support, our setup and maintenance guides, [10]% off parts and rebuilds, and proof of purchase on file so you never have to dig for a receipt. Registering is also the first step to the training upgrade.

3. Take Fundamentals

Our Fundamentals course is free on Skool. Finish it within 12 months of purchase, using the same email you registered with, and we upgrade every tool registered to you: 5 years on rams and tools, repair or replace, no questions asked.

We do this because trained owners use their tools safely and get better results. We're willing to bet on them.

What "no questions asked" means

If a covered ram or tool breaks or stops working during its no-questions-asked period, we repair or replace it, including damage from accidents and mistakes. We won't ask how it happened. You send the damaged item back to us, or send photos if we tell you that's enough.

No-questions-asked coverage does not include lost or stolen items, normal wear of working surfaces (worn textures, dulled edges), cosmetic wear, or items modified, re-machined or re-heat-treated by someone other than us.

Who and what is covered

Who is covered

The original purchaser of a new Bonny Doon product, bought from us or from an authorized distributor. When a school or business buys the product, that institution is the original purchaser. Coverage does not transfer to later owners.

What "press frame" means

The press frame is the structure of the press: the base, the top plate, the uprights, the moving platen, the return springs, and the bolts, nuts, pins and welds that hold them together.

The press frame does not include the hydraulic ram, pump, gauge, hoses, fittings, dies, tooling, or the paint and finish. Those are covered under their own lines in the table above.

Lifetime means for as long as the original purchaser owns the press.

Bought used?

The warranty doesn't transfer to later owners, but we can still help. If you bought a Bonny Doon tool used, you can buy parts and rebuilds from us, take the Fundamentals course, and call us for technical help anytime.

Bought from a distributor?

Your coverage is exactly the same. Contact us directly for any warranty question or claim, not the distributor. Keep your distributor receipt as proof of purchase, or register so it's on file with us.

Something not right?

Call or email before you ship anything. Most fixes are a seal kit or a gauge we can mail you.

How to make a claim

  1. Email help@bonnydoontools.com or call 575-741-0282. Tell us your name, the product, its serial number or that it's registered, and what happened. Photos or a short video help a lot.
  2. We'll troubleshoot with you. Many fixes are a seal kit, a gauge or a part we can mail you.
  3. If the product needs to come back, we'll give you a return authorization number. Please don't ship anything without one.
  4. Ship it to us, insured. You pay shipping to us.
  5. We repair or replace it and ship it back. You pay return shipping.

What we'll do

At our option, we will repair the product, or replace it with the same or an equivalent product (the current version if yours is discontinued). A repaired or replaced product keeps whatever coverage was left on the original.

Electric pumps

Electric pumps are made by our pump supplier and carry a 1-year warranty against defects from the date of purchase. You deal with us, not the supplier; we handle the claim for you. After the first year, we'll help you get your pump rebuilt or repaired.

After your warranty ends

We keep supporting your tools. Typical costs:

  • Seal kits: $25 - $45
  • Ram and Pro Cylinder rebuilds: about $150
  • Gauges: about $40

Parts for manual rams are available for 10 years from purchase. If a part is no longer made, we'll offer an equivalent or an upgrade.

Outside the US

Coverage applies worldwide. Customers outside the US pay shipping both ways plus any duties and taxes. We may send parts instead of asking for a return.

The fine print

What's not covered

These exclusions apply to Everyone and Registered coverage:

  • Damage from misuse, accidents, dropping, overloading past rated capacity, or side-loading
  • Damage caused by contaminated or incorrect hydraulic fluid, or by components not rated for the product
  • Products modified, re-machined, welded or re-heat-treated by anyone other than us
  • Repairs made by anyone other than us without our approval
  • Normal wear: seals over time, die and punch surfaces, cutting edges, textures on pattern plates
  • Paint, finish, and rust from storage or environment
  • Shipping damage (report it to the carrier; we'll help you file)
  • Lost or stolen products

Limits on our responsibility

We are not responsible for incidental or consequential damages, such as lost production, materials, labor or profits. Our total responsibility under this warranty is limited to the purchase price of the product. Any implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the length of this written warranty.

Some states do not allow limits on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so these limits may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.

Changes to these terms

The terms in effect on your date of purchase apply to that purchase. Effective date: [date].
